Water management

Renergen strives to avoid or minimise adverse environmental impacts associated with water use, including impacts related to water quality and quantity of water used. We do not abstract any water for production related activities, therefore reduce the potential negative impacts for water availability for the surrounding area and communities in which we operate.

Renergen undertakes routine groundwater monitoring bi-monthly, as per the approved Environmental Management Programme (EMPr) of 2017, to assess whether production activities might influence the prevailing groundwater quality.

Surface water quality monitoring is also undertaken to comply with our Water Use License (WUL) and Environmental Management Programme (EMPr) conditions.
