Natural gas significantly reduces sources of localised air pollution compared to coal on a life cycle basis. Natural gas produces 82% less nitrogen oxide (NOx), 99% less sulfur dioxide (SO2), and nearly 100% less mercury emissions when combined cycle power plants are used. This helps our LNG customers meet their environmental goals to reduce air pollution.
While our operations generate air pollutant emissions, such as NOx, sulfur oxides (SOx), volatile organic compounds (VOCs), carbon monoxide (CO) and particulate matter (PM), we actively monitor and aim to limit our air emissions.
We conduct air compliance audits to monitor our performance in complying with relevant environmental obligations.
We annually calculate and estimate our Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions, in accordance with the IPPC Standards and legislation. For further information, please review our ESG Report.
